Grays of Cambridge; owner of world-leading brands: Grays Hockey and racquets,  Gray-Nicolls Cricket and Gilbert Rugby and Netball; is proud to announce the recruitment of its first-ever Head of Women’s sport, Sarah Robertson.

Sarah has over 160 international caps for Scotland and Great Britain and was a key member of the GB team at the Tokyo Olympics, playing in every match and scoring a key goal in the Bronze medal match against India. Having chosen hockey over football as a junior; Sarah is a long standing Grays ambassador and hopes to again represent Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham this summer. Sarah joins Grays from Premiership Rugby having qualified with a Law Degree from Edinburgh University.

Sarah commented “ I am delighted to join Grays in this exciting new role. Women’s sport has so much potential to grow and to have the opportunity to play a part in that across all four sports hugely motivates me. I have played with Grays hockey for a decade now and I am looking forward to bringing that experience to the team whilst continuing to learn and understand areas to progress”.

Richard Gray CEO- Commercial at Grays added “The high calibre of the all candidates that applied for this new role at Grays impressed us tremendously.  We were particularly delighted that Sarah – who has used Grays throughout her hockey career – agreed to accept our offer.  The appointment represents a key role for the company at such an exciting time for the development of the women’s game, across all our sports. Sarah will  be ensuring that we are well equipped to benefit from the rapid growth of the women’s sports and we look forward to Sarah developing our overall offering  to meet the specific requirements of  female athletes. Naturally, Sarah is also ideally placed to develop Grays’ hockey business and we look forward to working together.”
